MEET OUR
WILD TEACHERS

Wildmind provides a forever home for these non-releasable wild animal ambassadors, as well as a few rescued domestic and farm animals. Most of them will be featured as the wild teachers in our outreach, virtual or on-site conservation education programs. As they age—or if they aren’t a good fit for our programs—they become sanctuary animals. We are dedicated to providing quality care for them for their entire lives, always striving to ensure their physical and emotional needs are being met.

Many of these animals were injured or abandoned in the wild, often due to unfortunate interactions with people. Some were confiscated when people tried to—illegally—keep them as pets, while others were born in captivity and could not survive in the wild. Their stories inform and inspire audiences of all ages, helping to develop empathy for other living beings. These incredible animals help us to teach respect and appreciation for our relationship with the natural world and the critical job of these animals in our own survival—they are the WILD TEACHERS.
